For a fifth year, we continue expanding our education programme to enable school pupils to attend screenings, workshops and events during our annual festival. Primary and Secondary school pupils from across Glasgow are invited to learn more about independent cinema, engage with various aspects of the filmmaking process – special effects, writing, costume, production, and animation. All workshops are offered free of charge to pupils and schools, and supported by donations and our work with Glasgow City Council Area Partnerships and Glasgow Life. Our continuously expanding CinEdu programme aims to add more cinema education in the curriculum, offer year-round events and remotely accessible content for all. The education masterclasses and workshops help students engage further with world cinema, while also offering a career orientation opportunity for students in higher education.
For 2024 we are working with Govan Primary and Secondary, and with the Hillhead Secondary schools.
