EuropeNow Film Festival, our travelling film event, turns 5 this year and we are off to Lisbon!
The 5th edition will take place June 28th & 29th at Fábrica Braço de Prata, with two screenings each night, Q&As with attending directors and networking until late at one of Lisbon’s most iconic venues.
EuropeNow Film Festival is an initiative of WoFF: World of Film International Festival in Glasgow, Scotland, UK and CES: Council for European Studies at Columbia University in the city of New York since 2017.
The festival focuses on contemporary European thematics, which include but are not limited to fiction, documentary, animated and art short and feature films of any length, that depict important aspects of Europe’s present reality. Samples of themes covered in the previous and current editions are refugee crisis, environmental crisis, war in Ukraine, economic recession, LGBTQ+ rights, Brexit, as well as shifts in lifestyle, tradition, culture and institutions within the diverse European continent.
Selected films from Estonia, Ukraine, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, France, Germany, the UK, and of course Portugal, will screen during the event.
Individual film listings can be found here, and the programme on the Fábrica Braço de Prata’s website.
Film Submissions are open for our 6th edition, returning to Scotland in 2023.
