The flowers of longing tells the story of Dalia, the youngest member of a family that experiences love in a different way: represented by nature, roots grow within them, throwing up petals until sickness and possible death. When León, Dalia's cousin, gets very sick due to an unrequited love, the wisest women in the family start taking care of him. In an attempt to help León, Dalia goes out looking for clivia, where she meets Daniel, who seems to be her first encounter with love as well as her first approach with the sickness.
