Are you passionate about film or animation? Would you like to know more about the industry and get exclusive access to a variety of independent films from all over the world? Volunteer with WoFF!
World of Film International Festival is looking for the following volunteers to add to the team (see descriptions below):
- Technical support
- Guests Assistants
- Graphic Designer
- Social Media Coordinator
- Photographers/ Videographers
- Events Assistants
• Technical support
Starting from mid-September, the technician will help planning our screenings and process selected films, paying attention to technical requirements and video/audio quality. During the festival, they will be in charge of ensuring the smooth running of the screenings and promptly help the tech team fix any issues that might arise.
• Guests Assistants
Guest Assistants will be the first point of contact with our international filmmakers, and they will ensure they have a pleasant and comfortable stay in Glasgow. After welcoming them, volunteers will assist guests with transport arrangements for festival events, and coordinate itineraries around the city. This role would be ideal for people who are confident in their knowledge of the area and/or speak multiple languages.
• Graphic Designer
Starting from mid-September, our Graphic Designer will create visual concepts to best communicate WoFF’s aims and deliver creative ideas for the festival’s image. Leading up to events, they will create and adapt graphics and visual content, and will provide quick support to the Festival Team and Social Media Coordinator for tasks as required.
• Social Media Coordinator
In the month leading up to the festival, our ideal Social Media Coordinator will be able to engage online audiences, promote events and screenings, and create interest on social media. During the festival, coverage of major events on several platforms (namely Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) will be essential.
Photographers and videographers will be required to capture essential moments of the various events such as Q&As, workshops, panel discussions, and networking events. The photographs and footage taken will keep a record of this year’s edition of WoFF, and will be used either for promotional purposes, on the festival’s platforms or to help create the festival trailer with our official branding.
• Events Assistants
The Events Team will be the core of our festival: with a positive and friendly attitude, our Events Assistants will welcome audiences and guests, direct them to the screenings and provide information about the festival. Depending on the event, responsibilities might include setting up venues, keeping track of attendance, coordinating the box office, distributing feedback forms, serving drinks, and promoting events online and offline.
All volunteers should be available for a minimum of 2 shifts during the festival (unless otherwise specified). The festival will take place from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th of October @ Film City Glasgow. Local travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Please send your CV (or relevant portfolio) along with one or two paragraphs stating why you would like to volunteer with WoFF to firstname.lastname@example.org
Interviews will take place during the first week of September, and will be followed by a Volunteer meeting.
