Virgin Money Lounge Programme

These films will screen on rotation at our partner venue Virgin Money Lounge, from 12 pm (noon) on Saturday 5th October and throughout the weekend October 5 – 6. 


King of tears by Benoite Marquette | Canada | 2019 | 9 min | Kose is a petty drug dealer who’s in a hurry to get some money back from a corny pander. In the eyes of Kose, this operation is one big occasion to prove himself as the King of the streets.


Cows can’t swim by Jonas Möllmann | Germany | 2018 | 22 min | Two lonely Souls meet at a hotel bar. Hotshot TV-Host Nick and blind musician Klara get into each other’s hair immediately. They prey on their counterpart’s weaknesses with precision and persistence, but seemingly just can’t get off each other’s backs.


Tapume by Hugo Faraco | US | 2018 | 6 min | Tapume in Portuguese means construction wall, and that’s where Brazilian artist Luiz d’Orey finds the material for his collages. In this short film we follow his creative process from the streets to the studio and back to the streets.


Long Lost by Jordan Edmeades | Australia | 2018 | 12 min | Things don’t go to plan for Ali when she realises she is adopted and travels from Australia to Scotland to find her ‘long lost’ sister Heather. 


The Writer by Sondre Fristad | Norway | 2018 | 59 min | The Writer is a comedy feature about a young writer with nightmares and problems with his girlfriend. Who ends up playing the lead role in his own movie, things doesn’t exactly turn out the way he want it too.


Trust me by Sam Cutler Kreuz | France | 2018 | 19 min | Trust Me is a story about Nicole, a young psychology professor who lives with her cardiologist husband Lawrence and young daughter Haley outside Caldwell New Jersey. Lawrence works away at a hospital every other week.  Frustrated with her husband’s busy work schedule, Nicole becomes increasingly suspicious that her husband might be having a fling with a younger and less encumbered woman.  Nicole starts a campaign of surveillance to catch him in with his new lover. What she discovers in her search is far more complicated and sinister then she could have possibly imagined.


Remastered – Episode 5: Profetik | US | 2018 | 22 min | Substance and style. The pursuit of an artful and better way. In this episode, style meets substance, sustainability and showcases Jeff Garner’s mission to make fashion eco-friendly once again.


A message for James by Ariella Mastroianni & Ryan Sloan | US | 2018 | 17 min | Two estranged friends, Alice and Dani, meet in Ireland to deliver an unopened letter to a distant relative on the anniversary of the event that tore their friendship apart.


Three days to London Fashion Week by Sondre Fristad | Norway | 2019 | 10 min | The lead up to fashion brand Kepaza participating in the chaotic world of London Fashion for the first time.
