Positions: Photographer / Videographer

Event Photographer/Videographer


Role

World of Film International Festival is looking for an Event Photographer to join their 6th edition. As the official Event Photographer for WoFF, you will:

  • Capture essential moments of the various events such as Q&As, workshops, panel discussions, and networking events. 
  • Provide photographs to be used for promotional purposes and to keep a record of this year’s edition of WoFF.
  • Provide video footage of the main events, to subsequently create a festival trailer with our official branding.
  • Manage and store all audio-visual content, and make sure that it is swiftly processed in order to be utilised for press/social media.
  • Ensure a high standard of output in both quality and quantity.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a proactive person who is able to work on their own initiative and is not afraid of going the extra mile for the good shots. Adaptability, flexibility and attention to detail are all essential qualities.

You should have proven experience in event photography and be fully confident with indoor photography/lighting techniques. 

Technical understanding of cameras and lighting is essential; having an academic background in photography/videography, along with relevant work experience would be an advantage. 

Proficiency processing raws, editing and retouching through Adobe Photoshop is essential. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or other video editing software is preferred.

Knowledge of or interest in the film industry and the local festival circuit would be beneficial.


 

Details

Due to funding limitations, we can only accept applications from the areas of Govan, Hillhead, Anderston, Glasgow Central and Southside.

Start date: This a temporary post for approx 30h.  Must be available on:

 29th September evening, afternoon/evening of Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th, along with full availability on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of October.

Salary: £270.00  Please note that the role is on self-employment basis.

Currently in its sixth edition, World of Film International Festival is an annual film festival based in Glasgow. Our main focus is to promote independent international cinema and bring local audiences together with filmmakers, producers, artists and cinema enthusiasts from all around the world. WoFF2019 will include shorts and feature films in categories such as female perspective, Balkan cinema, and animation. In addition to film screenings, our special programmes include workshops, masterclasses, live events and special cinema and art exhibitions, along with Q&As, panel discussions & networking events with filmmakers and film industry professionals. WoFF is a non-profit organisation bringing audiences a step closer to international independent cinema and giving voice to young artists.
