Film City Glasgow | Sunday 7 October | 3.30 pm | TICKETS
After a successful first panel at last year’s festival, we bring together women filmmakers from our Female Perspective Competition to discuss their projects, the place of women directors in the film industry, the path to success and the obstacles they encountered in order to get their first film ideas off the ground. In the age of #MeToo, women in the film and arts businesses, still remain the minority and need to fight hard for work, funding, recognition or a place at a festival. Sharing experiences of filmmakers from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, and of different scale productions, gives the opportunity to begin a dialogue and contribute toward progress and eventually finding solutions.
Panelists include Russian director Ornella Hawthorn Gardez (Romy), A.J. Sykes (Regrets) Vera Glagoleva and producer Natalia Ivanova (Clay Pit); Director Laura Plancarte (Hermanos). Moderated by Rachel Wilson.
